What is an ARC?

An ARC is an Academic Resource Coordinator.  ARCs are available to help students out with a variety of academic needs and concerns.  They are available to help students find the resources needed to succeed with their college education.  ARCs provide a number of academic related programs as well as individual assistance.  Each building has its own ARC who lives right within the hall and provides academic based services to the residents.  They are great resource for residence halls students and with the convenience of being right in the halls, they are very accessible.  Our Academic Resource Coordinators are well trained and ready to help out with any academic concerns, so stop in and visit!     

ARCs provide a variety of wonderful services including:  

• Run ASAP Program (ARCs Supporting Academic Progress) - one-to-one meetings that provide participants with resources and information on tips and strategies for succeeding academically (time management, study habits, test taking, note taking, etc.).  First semester only- register now!

• Serve as a resource and referral link between students and UW-Superior academic support services (Advisement Office, Career Center, Student Support Services, Tutoring, etc.)

• Plan hall programs and activities that promote academic success (such as Campus/World Jeopardy, Library Olympics, Resume Writing, etc.).

• Assist with implementing and promoting on-going academic success programs (such as Study Bucks, academic awards, the faculty mentoring program S.P.I.C.E)

• Provide individual consultation on academic success related issues.

• Publish bi-monthly academic newsletter which provides timely information and resources to residence hall students on academics, advisement, and financial aid issues that influence student success.

• Assistance with strategies for effective study habits and behaviors.

• Weekly office hours (additional times/meetings available upon appointment with ARC).
